The purpose is to provide aeronautical information essential for the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation to the flight crew and operators, relative to the route stages to be flown, in accordance with national Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs) and ICAO Annex 15 specifications on Aeronautical Information Services (AIS).
The services are achieved by supporting Publication of Aeronautical Information and accurate data for publications related to:
Aeronautical Information Publication Amendments (AIP AMDTs),
Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC),
NOTAM & Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIB)
AIS also support Aerodrome Safeguarding and Control of Obstacles at all civil and government airports as required by the (need a designator to show for both mil/civ) Regulator to ensure safety of operations. The AIS mandate is to ensure the aeronautical data related to terrain and obstacle meet a 95% Confidence Level and validate this accuracy based on ICAO and GCAA standards.
With the implementation of area navigation, performance-based navigation (PBN), airborne computer-based navigation systems and data link systems the importance of aeronautical information has changed significantly. We are constantly consulting with our clients to ensure their data is maintained to the highest standards as we migrate from paper to electronic documentation, in line with the transition from AIS to AIM by supporting projects acquiring Aeronautical Information Exchange Module AIXM 5.1.
